Jeans and a T-shirt: a ritual

t-shirt - Ardene | jeans - old and DIY Forever21 | slides - Matt & Nat | handbag - thrifted | belt - Forever21 | sunnies - Rayban

The t-shirt and jeans combination is probably the most basic and easygoing pairing you could style with clothes. No one ever said it had to be boring though. There are so many ways to make a simple outfit more interesting and spring is the time to try it. I didn't have to throw on a jacket on this day, it was beautiful out and wearing this dainty polkadot tee was felt lovely in the sun. I rolled up the sleeves to give it a more relaxed vibe. I still had to wear jeans so I threw on the classic black skinnies with rips in the knees. No matter the year, I feel like these jeans are a staple in my wardrobe and always work with the trending pieces of the season. To add some unique accessories to the base of the outfit, I chose these modern slides from Matt & Nat. I love the way they elongate my legs from the ankle. I also added a double o-ring belt to emphasize the high-waisted jeans & to match the gold of my earrings. Pairing this woven handbag was so fun! I absolutely love brown this season and these little hand-held bags are all in for the spring and summer time. These kind of bags give a really put together look but is easy to style with simple outfits or an evening dress. I just found mine at the thrift store for 5$. Because of the pop of warmth from the bag I chose to style my fun hexagonal Raybans. The brown lenses are so unique and add such a great vibe to this outfit.

Each of the accessories made the simple jeans & t-shirt look come together into an actual outfit. I always think it's easy to dress up a basic wardrobe with more unique shoes and accessories, which is why I mostly shop second hand clothes and invest in new accessories that I know I can wear over and over again. I wear an outfit similar to this on most days just switching out the jeans for trousers and playing with all my different band and graphic tees. I'm definitely a t-shirt gal and will always find a way to make them look chic or edgy depending on my mood. I think that's why I love collecting t-shirts; because I can make them match the way I'm feeling.
Do you have a favourite t-shirt that you know you'll never get rid of?

Thanks so much for reading,
